Direction was founded in 1985 in Taichung by Peter Wu, Grace Chen, James Lin, and Robert Chen. With the addition of distinguished legal professionals, including Attorney Liu Hsu-Lun, Direction collaborated in establishing DLaw Associated Law Offices in Taipei. This development created a dual-office structure spanning Taichung and Taipei. The expansion not only broadened the firm’s geographic presence, but also marked a strategic transition from a specialized intellectual property practice to a comprehensive, full-service legal platform.

In response to the rapid growth of its practice and professional team, Direction relocated its Taichung headquarters to its current locationd. The move significantly expanded the firm's office space and operational capacity. This milestone not only reflected Direction's steady development, but also provided a strong foundation for the recruitment of additional professionals and the enhancement of its facilities in the years ahead.

The Legal Department of the Taichung headquarters was formally established, achieving a deeper integration of intellectual property practice and general legal services. In 2024, Integrity International Law Office was established to carry forward the professional spirit of the Direction Group and to respond to the increasingly diverse needs of its clients.
